What does orthotemeo mean?
2 Timothy 2:19 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. In the Greek the word is ὀρθοτομέω orthotoméō, or-thot-om-eh'-o; from a compound of G3717 and the base of G5114, to make a straight cut, i.e. (figuratively) to dissect (expound) correctly (the divine message):—rightly divide. Patrician. No other translation relays the message like this. Other translations will render it in innocuous statements such as the NASB95 "accurately handling." So what does that mean? Does it means to interpret anyway feel like? In Ephesians 3:2
If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words,8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) What is this mystery? If you read further in the chapter you will discover that the mystery is this Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
