Jesus The Same Yesterday, Today And Forever

Yesterday — The Promise and Preparation
Abraham: God’s covenant of promise (Genesis 12, 15), Ephesians (2:2). “In thy seed shall all nations be blessed.” Moses and the Law: God’s covenant of instruction. The Law as a schoolmaster pointing to Christ (Gal. 3:24). Hebrews’ connection: The shadow of good things to come (Heb. 10:1).

Today — The Fulfillment and Mediation Jesus’ Earthly Ministry: “A minister of the circumcision… to confirm the promises made unto the fathers” (John 1:11) (Romans 15:8).
The Cross and Resurrection: The perfect sacrifice once for all.
Now: Our living High Priest and Mediator (Heb. 4:14–16; 8:6).
The age of grace — Jew and Gentile one body in Christ (Eph. 2:14–16).

Forever — The Consummation and Glory In the ages to come: “He might show the exceeding riches of his grace…” (Ephesians 2:7).
Eternal Reign: Jesus crowned with glory and honor (Heb. 2:9). Unchanging Nature: “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Heb. 13:8)

Response — The Same Call Echoes Today “Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.” — Acts 26:28 A closing reminder that the message of Revelation 22:17— and the whole Bible — still calls for a response: Will we be “almost persuaded,” or fully persuaded like Abraham (Rom. 4:21)?

take hold of His Grace gift of ever lasting life. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Ephesians 2:8
